The name Arany is derived from the Hungarian word for gold. In former times, to serve the nobility and aristocracy, many cultures developed fine gold smithery, and towards the end of the 17th century, Vienna became the centre of this craft. Around 1750, Anton Domanek created a breakfast and toiletry set for Maria Theresa, the reigning archduchess of Austria and the queen of Hungary.
