The Orangery is a spectacular dining room which was architect-designed and added to Balbirnie House Hotel for The Millennium celebrations. There are two distinct Orangery offerings today within The Grill @ Balbirnie House Hotel. Firstly, they work around their mighty Josper Grill, legend of charcoal gastronomy, especially focussed with a selection of Scotland’s finest flame-grilled beef steaks and seafood.
Secondly, they have The Modern Age menu, which at source was inspired by The Chef’s Table series on Netflix. Their take on this is to contemplate Scotland’s culinary roots and history, and to re-interpret this for contemporary Scotland today, in a 3-course fixed price ever-changing and evolving menu.
The Modern Age is certainly something totally new for Scotland, with a new visionary cutting edge for Scottish cuisine, something that says exactly what it is, enabling all of them at Balbirnie House Hotel to acknowledge that they are celebrating their country, their culture, their origins and traditions, something that is a lot of fun, joyful and happy and can progressively accelerate and keep evolving into the future.
