The restaurant of the Central House of Writers is a truly legendary place. In the 1960s, there was a famous buffet for writers with the strictest access control, where the most famous writers gathered, from Yevgeny Yevtushenko to Bella Akhmadulina. The current “Colorful Hall” of the restaurant still keeps autographs and drawings of writers and poets of the “sixties” on its walls. Now the restaurant of the Central House of Writers is both a museum and a place open to everyone who loves real Russian cuisine, which is simple, understandable, with an interesting presentation.
The kitchen of theRestaurant of the Central House of Writers is already familiar to Chef Fyodor Verin, since he worked on it from 2014 to 2016 and returned to the Central House of Writers in January 2020.
The fact that the restaurant of the Central House of Writers is called a museum is not an exaggeration. Furniture and interior items were selected in such a way as to recreate the atmosphere of the Moscow aristocratic mansion and family salon that used to be here as accurately as possible. During the restoration, even three fireplaces were restored, which are still in operation.
