Paii is a contemporary Thai seafood restaurant located within The House on Sathorn, a beautifully restored neo-classical mansion beside W Bangkok. Originally built in 1899 as a private residence, the historic property was developed by Luang Sathorn Rajayutka and later revitalized into one of Bangkok’s most distinctive dining destinations.
The restaurant’s name, “Paii,” meaning “paddle” in Thai, reflects the legacy of Sathorn Canal and the area’s historic connection to water and trade. Inside, restored architectural features blend with eclectic modern décor, including contemporary Thai artworks and handcrafted textiles.
Led by Head Chef Bua Sarocha, the kitchen highlights Thailand’s rich seafood traditions while incorporating refined, contemporary techniques. The menu showcases premium local seafood such as giant mud crabs from Samut Songkhram, squid from Chonburi, and giant river prawns, alongside imported ingredients including Hokkaido scallops, Spanish octopus, French oysters, and Maine lobster.
Signature dishes include Pad Thai Lobster, Thod Man Puu, Choo Chee Grilled River Prawns, Hamachi Tom Kha, Yum Phon La Maai, Pla Meuk Yen Ta Fo, Sikrong Moo Hong Yang, Khao Ob Pla, and Paii Signature Mud Crab Fried Rice. Guests can end their experience with desserts such as Paii Waffle and Coconut Sundae.
