and Wine Pairing Experience at the 2026 Haute Grandeur Global Excellence Awards
ABOUT REVERIE SOCIAL TABLE
Located in Observatory, Cape Town, South Africa, Reverie Social Table is a communal dining experience
hosted around one shared table for up to only 18 guests. Founded by Chef Julia Hattingh in 2015, Reverie
brings together locals and travellers for a five-course seasonal menu thoughtfully paired with wines from
local South African producers.
The menus are built around hyper-seasonal, locally-sourced produce and proteins and are created to
complement the wines featured in each series. Reverie regularly partners with local wineries, changing its
wine pairing and menu every six to eight weeks. The format is designed to feel more like a dinner party at a
friend’s home, with guests sharing food, wine and conversation around the table.
