The charming Clanwilliam Lodge, nestled in the Olifants River valley, close to the world famous Cederberg Mountain, was built in 1916. Once a hostel for girls, this rustic but stately structure with high ceilings, thick walls, archways and columns, was transformed to a hotel ten years ago with 32 comfortable Guest rooms of different, interesting styles and shapes.
The Lodge is 5 minutes’ drive from Clanwilliam Dam, within easy access to trails for hiking, mountain biking and bushman’s rock art; vineyards; Rooibos farm tours and tea tasting venues. Visitors enjoy the vistas of over 200 species of flowers that burst into bloom during August/September each year.
Our bar and restaurant next to the pool and garden area, are open 7 days per week and offer a blend of South African and French Moroccan cuisine. Guests love to unwind on the poolside Bedouin beds, enjoy relaxing massage and beauty treatments, or retreat to the sunken cocktail bar with subtle Moroccan décor.
Our friendly staff and superior service make small conferences, corporate retreats, weddings, anniversaries or just quiet relaxation, a memorable experience.
