Bale Mountain Lodge
Bale Mountain Lodge is more than a tourist destination for a relaxing week away. It is an ethical and conservation driven eco-lodge showcasing the amazing habitats and endemic wildlife of the Bale Mountains National Park. The mandate of the lodge is to raise the standards of service available in Ethiopia, highlight the number of rare endemic species within the park and reduce man’s negative impact on the environment through reducing illegal grazing, deforestation and cultivation. The lodge is raising the bar for Ethiopian accommodation by delivering a luxurious experience whilst ensuring that every effort is made to ensure sustainability.
Set in the most serene location of a protected cloud forest with breath taking views across the Bale Mountain National Park are 11 spacious bedrooms all fitted with a wood burning stove to provide warmth and a cosy atmosphere. The lodge and furniture has all been built with local produce in keeping with the environment; the lodge relies on its own natural energy supply and water from the spring all of which have been developed by the owner with eco-conservation in mind.
