SO/ Auckland is a sleek urban base in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, with 16 floors offering Waitemtatā Harbour and city views.

Their 130 guest rooms and suites feature free-standing bathtubs (one of the only two hotels in Auckland to offer this) and ample natural light. The hotel was decorated by New Zealand designer Benny Castles of WORLD with Dutch designers Moooi. The uniforms are also designed by Benny Castles.

SO/ Auckland sits on the former Reserve Bank of New Zealand site. SO/ Spa, our wellness area, and functions space are housed in the former bullion vault—the largest gold reserve in the country. Gold details throughout the hotel reflect this heritage.

Their entry-level rooms offer 92 “Collection” rooms, 17 “Studio” rooms, alongside 13 “Loft” and 6 Atelier Suites. Two special VIP suites include the “Waitematā Suite” and “Treasury Suite”—both renamed in 2024 to reflect the Maori connection to the land and the building’s history, respectively.

HI-SO Rooftop Bar (L16) offers panoramic views, Harbour Society Restaurant (L15) brings together woodfired techniques with kiwi produce, Club Signature offers a private rooftop members lounge for suite guests, and SO/ Spa offers handpicked WATERLILY treatments.
