Since ages ago, poets have romanticised and polished lyrics about ‘sleeping under the stars’. At Park Hyatt Shanghai, guests are halfway there.
Spanning the 79th through 93rd floors of the Shanghai World Financial Centre (SWFC), Park Hyatt Shanghai has established itself as the city’s leading ultra-luxury hotel and the first to bring true sophistication to Shanghai.
The interiors of Park Hyatt Shanghai have been created by an award-winning New York-based designer. His vision was to create a sophisticated modern-Chinese residence, designed with respect to traditional Chinese geometry and architecture, while providing all the comforts of a stately home.
Guests will therefore travel through a sequence of ‘gates, halls and chambers’, culminating in a courtyard where daily life congregates. Chi envisages a calm and spiritual sanctuary where guests can practice tai chi or play Chinese chess in the courtyards. The spaces are therefore understated in both mood and design, with a predominance of earth tones and natural materials.
